READY. SET. WAIT... I HAVE A QUESTION.

  • What is Go-Tober?

Go-Tober is a whole month (10/1/2017–10/31/2017) dedicated to experiencing new, smarter ways to get around. Companies with 100+ employees have been challenged to get as many of their employees as possible to commute smarter at least once a week throughout October. Carpool, telework, vanpool, bike, walk, take the bus or transit – any way is a smart commute go-getter way. Earn points for each one-way trip you take and track during October. The company with the most points wins!

  • How do I sign up as an employee?

Employees of companies registered for Go-Tober can click here to sign up.

  • How do I sign up as a company?

Company registration is closed for Go-Tober 2017. If you are interested in Way to Go’s other employer resources or participating in Go-Tober 2018, email us at WayToGo@DRCOG.org

  • What are the dates of the challenge for Go-Tober 2017?

    The 2017 Go-Tober Challenge runs from 12:01 a.m. on 10/1/2017 to 11:59 p.m. on 10/31/2017.

  • Uh-oh, I forgot my MyWayToGo.org Password.

No problem! You can request a new password on the password reset form.

  • What if my company is not registered? Can I still participate?

We love your get and go-getter style! Reach out to us today at WayToGo@DRCOG.org. While the 2017 Go-Tober challenge is full, we’d be happy to discuss a customized commute challenge for your company. To learn more about us, check out our website at WayToGo.org. We look forward to speaking with you.

  • What qualifies as a “smart commute”?

Smart commutes include any one way trip using a bike, rail, bus, carpool, vanpool, walking or teleworking. Teleworking would qualify for two trips as you are eliminating your commute to and from the office.

  • How do I track my trips?

Once you are registered, you can track your trips in two ways:

    • 1) On MyWayToGo.org. Visit the MyWayToGo.org FAQ page to answer questions you have about tracking your trips, or watch this video.
    • 2) On the Commute Tracker* app. For information on how to download and use the app, click here.*The app is in beta testing. Double-check the accuracy of your trips by logging on to MyWayToGo.org.
  • How do I log telework?

To log telework, please input the number of miles you would have traveled to work. As the goal of this challenge is to reduce the number of miles traveled, this allows us to track your positive impact on congestion and air quality.

  • Oops! I forgot to track my trip from last week!

Don’t worry, MyWayToGo.org allows you to track trips in the past. Simply backdate your entry, and you’re good to go!

  • What are the prizes, and how do I win them?

Companies are competing for the Grand Prize of $9,000 in paid media. Employees are competing for weekly surprise rewards for participation, prizes on social media (Facebook) and the employee Grand Prize—a iPad and earbuds (valued at $500) to maximize the commute experience.

The employee Grand Prize winner must be registered with his/her company and must have at least eight smart commute trips tracked between 12:01 a.m. on 10/1/2017 and 11:59 p.m. on 10/31/2017. The winner will be chosen at random.

  • How does a company win?

The company with the highest score in each company category at 11:59 p.m. on 10/31/2017 will win.

  • Will smaller companies be competing against larger companies?

Don’t worry, Go-Tober is good for any size company. Participants will be categorized by RTD’s Service Level Areas, and an effort index will be applied to equalize the playing field between small and large companies in the Grand Prize selection process. The effort index will be calculated as the number of company participants divided by the square root of two times the number of company employees.

  • How are the leaderboard scores calculated?

Scores are based on the number of trips tracked by employees applied to the effort index. The effort index is calculated as the number of company participants divided by the square root of two times the number of company employees.

During registration, employees will self-identify as “sometimes,” “seldom” and “never” taking smart commute trips. Participants who identify as “sometimes” taking smart commute trips will get one point for every trip tracked. Participants who identify as “seldom” or “never” taking smart commute trips get two points for every trip tracked. This scoring system will help motivate employees who currently commute as a single-occupant vehicle (SOV) to try new, smarter ways to commute.

The leaderboard will show the month-long total score for companies broken out by category.

  • What's the official challenge hashtag?
  • Why are you running this campaign?

It’s simple. We want to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality and make smarter commuting easier for the region’s residents.

  • Who is Way to Go?

Way to Go is a regional partnership between the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) and a dedicated group of seven Transportation Management Associations (TMAs). We work together to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality and make life better for the region’s residents. Formerly known as RideArrangers, we’ve been promoting better commuting options for employers and individuals for more than 30 years.

We offer real-life solutions to help commuters save money, experience less stress and save time, so that they can focus more on the things they enjoy. We’re here to help you find a better commute, and our assistance is free of charge, thanks to federal funding earmarked to preserve air quality and reduce congestion. If you’re an employer who wants to attract and retain the best employees by offering progressive and friendly commute options, we’re here to help, again at no charge.
